ARTIST'S COMMENT
One day, I have found a fabric which had a theme of a fairy tale.
It was printed on some happy scene of a fairy tale.
The two kids hung out in a forest and looked very happy.
I could see this textile on the fabric which showed a happy scene printing a repeat.
The happy scene is only a surface impression because it was a famous fairy tale which a candy house appeared.
I know there were not only a dangerous situation but also an ugly witch around them.

In this exhibition's theme, the fabric and fairy tale gave an impression to me.
The character, the Mr. Froggie, which I created will act on my painting works that looks so happy but actually it is an unhappy theme.

It will show the Mr. Froggie's repetitive, smiley faces in my painting works.
He will look so happy but you will guess an unhappy situation coming to him soon.

PROFILE
Yu Nagaba
Yu was born in 1976. He was graduated from Tokyo Zokei University.
He works with the Design Tshirts Store Graniph and he creates design works for TV show, advertising and more.
The Mr. Froggie whom he created appears in Japanese art seen.

My Freedamn / Rin Tanakaさん主催のVintage Heads達へのイベント「Inspiration Vol.1」がSanta Monicaにて開催されました！
I visit a special event, Inspiration Vol.1, which was organized by Rin Tanaka. So many vintage heads showed up!

いつも大変お世話になっております。皆川社長とNaoさんにまたまたお誘いいただき、この記念すべきイベントに見事潜入できました！嬉しかったです！！
会場はまさにロッカ・ビリーな感じでしたが、まさかのサーフ・アート集団の出展もあり、仲間達に出会えた気分で少しほっとしてしまいました。。

今回が初対面となったPalm Graphicsの豊田弘治さん。
まさかここでお会いできるとは思わず、凄く感激！！
その脇を固めていたのが、Meganeでもお世話になっているSurfindianのChrisにMasaさん。
こういうイベントに知り合いがいてくれるのは何より嬉しいですね！

そして、同じくブースを出していたAndy Davisとも再会し、色々お話ができました！

またまた、ブース展開中のTyler WarrenやJoel Tudorとも会えた。
そして、ふらっと訪れて来たのはGeoff McFetridgeでした。久しぶりに会えてこれまた嬉しかったです。
はたまた、Dog TownからはJeff HoやRayも来ていました。

Blendsのタクさんともばったり、HVW8のMAXとも。。
なので、個人的にこのイベントは非常に濃かったです。

「今までのアダムらしい作品はもちろん、今回はアダムの新たな試みとなる、これまでにない釉薬を使ったものが多数入荷しており、私たちも目を奪われました。色だけでなく、釉薬の質感やフォルムまで、今までのアダムのイメージにない作品を前にして、個展のオープニングが待ち遠しいかぎりです。」

Clare Crespo came to the Heath LA gallery. She served a crocheted Mardi Gras feast on Heath dinnerware - Seafood Gumbo, Beignets and cafe au lait, King cake, Catfish poboy, Oysters on the half shell, Soft shell crab, Shrimp cocktail, Salad and Ham. Those were so cute!!

Clare Crespo による毛糸でつくられたご馳走がLAのHeathにてお披露目だった！それらは、とてもかわいかった。。
Adam SilvermanにLouise、あとはFamilyのDavidにMikeMillsまで来ていて予想外にパーティは盛り上がっていた！！娘はMikeとの初対面に少々困惑気味！？だったけど、毛糸のご馳走を見るのは大好きだったようです。

Adamは明日の朝には日本に行くそうです！そして２月１３日からはPlaymountainで展示をスタート！僕も行きたかったです！！
